Today as I was reading The Dreamer by Pam Munoz-Ryan it made me think of Workshop 5 in our RBook...remember The Marble Champ? Do you remember Lupe Medrano....she wanted to be good at a sport---any sport---so she choose marbles. And, what did she do to reach her goal??? That's right---she practiced! She got so good at marbles...she won the Championship!!! Well, in The Dreamer, Neftali's dream is to write poetry. But his father, thinks that is such a waste of time, energy, money and brains. But just like Lupe, Neftali, does not let this stop him. He pursues his dream...and makes it!!! I know that you would love the book (there are even great pictures at the beginning of each chapter that help you predict what you will read)---if you have time, give it a read this summer! Also...it really made me think of each of you....and how I know that you can do whatever you put your mind too!!! Work hard...never give up!!
